The name consul pays tribute to the local fetish of septimanie, which reveres the the Roman Seventh Claudian Legion and the eponymous administrative region, to this day. This not far fetched, as the domaine is said to have been a staging post for the Seventh Legion whose veterans settled in nearby Bziers.
